Social Traveling

The highest degree of hospitality for a good cause. Both lodges share the same social background: 20% of the proceeds go to projects of the Jane Goodall Institute in Uganda.
We use our long-term experience with aid projects in Uganda to strengthen and support the region and the people who live there, such as the project to support the Batwa Pygmies: as one of the oldest tribes in Africa, they are supported with programs for education, agriculture and water management projects.
Other projects of the Jane Goodall Institute can be found here. (Link)

Wildlife Safari - Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda
This park, also known as Kabalega Falls National Park, is located in northwestern Uganda. It was established in 1952 and is Uganda's largest wildlife protected area spanning a total area of 3,840 square kilometers. It encompasses a large swath of African savannah, sliced in half by the Nile River, creating some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Africa; the Nile waters explode through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with elephant, hippos and crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes. The vegetation of Murchison Falls National Park is characterized by savannah, riparian forest, and woodland. Wildlife includes lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda kobs, chimpanzees, and more than 450 bird species including the magnificent shoebill stork.
One of the highlights of a safari to this park is the launch trip to the foot of Murchison Falls. Hippos and crocodiles are abundant, and you will also see elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks and birds like: herons, cormorants, ducks, bee-eaters, fish eagles, kingfishers, and the rare shoebill stork. Other activities in include sport fishing, game drives, nature walks, and chimpanzee tracking in the adjacent Budongo forest.
